Get back into ‘learning’, Get back into your body!

We so often think of interests, hobbies and careers as the things in which we further our education. I'll sooner watch a youtube video to fix a tennis forehand then I will watch the latest xxx release to figure out new techniques on how to please myself or my partner. I'll sooner sign up for that continuing ed writing course, than sign up for a partner's communication course to learn about improving my communication with my partner. We so often assume we SHOULD know how to have sex (good sex especially) and how to use our bodies with another person when we barely recognize that we've trained for years to write, to run, to play sports, to use software applications, to play the piano, and we completely forget that all our activities and parts of our body deserve some new classes, spices, updated versions and upgrades. While we will sign up for that part-time masters or salsa lesson, why don't we stop to wonder what we're doing for our sex lives, relationships/partnerships and bodies?

If we spent even 5% of our day thinking about relationships or sex, could we say we spend 5% of our reading, or learning time exploring relationships or sex? Are we spending 5% of our conversations speaking about relationships and sex in a curious, non-judgemental way so to get the most out of our relationships, bodies and sex lives, in the ways we would try to learn something new about another country, our favourite movie star, a political system, or a sport?

Research at Rutgers
Within a week of returning from Costa Rica, Atia was en route to support Nan Wise’s research at Rutgers offering her body for a female ejaculation science experiment! Costa Rica 2011 & 2012
March 7th, we arrived in Pavones and hit the ground running... with 5 workshops in less than 2 weeks! A co-ed sensual awakening dinner and women’s sensual awakening lunch, we explored all of our senses with cicadas chirping at 110 decibals, ocean waves crashing on the rocks, and all of us moaning over delicious food. Atia held 3 female ejaculation workshops, and after each one, was joyfully approached by many new wonderful stories by attendees of how good ‘at-home practice’ became ;).

Wild and Juicy Costa Rica 2010
What was originally going to be the first of many Goddess Sexual Awakening Retreats for all goddesses interested, Gaia & I decided that we would have our own retreat just for us and the women who live in Pavones, a south western town of Costa Rica. It was a great decision for so many wet reasons.

September is the rainy season, it kept us wet, though we admit we were lucky to have plenty of sunshine for most days we were in Pavones. I caught the last rays from my favourite lover, the sun, and Gaia caught a sunburn after spending most of her summer inside, what would be her last summer of teaching pottery camps. WoO hOo!! We are greatfull for all her years of sharing and decision to be with the S.A.C. full time.

So being in Costa Rica was also a celebration to say good-bye to the past and the old, and to welcome the new. At La Ponderosa Pavones, the 14-acred jungle resort on the ocean, we scampered and danced through the orchards, creeks and waterfalls, celebrating Gaia's new and full life commitment to her work as a Sexual Healer and Sensual Adventure Guide. We held a ceremony on a hill in the jungle under an almond tree, and as the rains fell at sunset, we had a bonfire and danced naked with our Costa Rican goddess sisters drumming and dancing, with the ocean waves in the distance and monkeys and cicadas singing along.

Throughout our stay, humpback whales and dolphins were in the gulf off our own private beach, and with families of squirrel monkeys and gigantic iguanas howling and munching insects in the trees, we couldn't have asked for a more delicious, relaxing, and rejuvenating place in all the world.

The beautiful women of Pavones welcomed us graciously into their sisterhood and healing and sensuous circle by showing us their land, introducing us to the ways of their land, and we are ever excited to return. We will be hosting a Goddess Sexual Awakening Retreat in Pavones, Costa Rica in Feb. 2012 and look forward to sharing this magical place with many other women. Details are now on our website. A little more about the S.A.C.
Ever wondered why so many people ask you, "So what are you doing?" instead of asking, "So what are you doing that makes you happy?" We ask the question all the time, understanding that there is an underlying societal pressure that people should be 'productive' and 'earn' and only after being 'productive' and 'earning' have they 'deserved a break and time to have pleasure'. When did 'work' separate from 'life' and pleasure be reserved for certain times of the week, provided we worked hard enough to earn it??! We don't really want to know the answer to these questions, we simply bask in the knowledge that there alternative ways of living. And all these creative and imaginable ways of living can include pleasure so we don't have to work so hard to be 'good enough' in order to 'earn' time for ourselves. And we don't have to suffer all the time thinking that our 'box' is a box, or our 'package' is a package separate and distinct from our bodies and every day living.

At the Sexual Awakening Centre we aim to help and guide people to integrate sensuality, sex and sensuality into everyday living. So, thank you to all those who ask, "So what are you doing?!" So we can respond, "What makes us happy!"

Always ready to take centre stage to teach, please and entertain crowds, Gaia is presenting one of our many Sensory Awakening workshops to a crowd of 200. She will be armed with caramel sauce and fruit and some lucky participant in the audience will get to be covered and devoured.

Niagara Falls Swingers Conference

In early February, TABOTA (Take a Bite of the Apple) hosts one of the largest, most exciting events for swingers in Southern Ontario. This year, we were there to guide & facilitate with a Sensory Awakening Playroom.

On top of encouraging a safe, communicative and a sensuality filled room for the swinging couples, we also received a call early Saturday morning asking us to fill in for a ‘no-show’.

We decided on Female Ejaculation, so at 11:45am Atia stood on a stage in front of 120 people and showed that “You too can be aroused all day at work!” and while holding a mic in hand, she ejaculated on stage (over towels, of course) without any genital stimulation and within one minute of beginning the demonstration. Assisted by the comic relief and goggle-wearing Gaia, the audience didn’t know what to do with themselves... that was, until they were asked to try out some exercises, and even volunteer to come on stage.

Volunteers came right up close to Atia to inspect and even smell the ejaculate, telling the audience that it was of course, not pee. Other audience members came on stage, put on some sleek gloves and used a dildo at different angles while Atia moved her muscles in different ways to show how one can ejaculate based on muscle control and the angles used by penetrating objects. After 1.5 hours the audience went on to other workshops, seminars and included practising the new & insightful techniques shared by Gaia and Atia back at their rooms.
